Hi Sylvia

Thanks so much for your assistance. My last resort was to re-install windows on this laptop.

  • Model number of the system: Dell Inspiron N5010
  • BIOS version installed on the board: Dell Inc. A04, 5/10/2010
  • Operating system: Windows 7 Pro, x64
  • Peripherals you are trying to connect: Usb mouse, usb keyboard, external hard drive, anything thats usb related.

1- When did you start getting this behavior?

- It started a while ago but it started not reading flash drives an my external drive but then it would sort itself out somehow, most likely when i shut down from work and get home starting it up again.

2- Was there any change on the system configuration?

- Not that i know of.

3- Any program or update installed?

- The usual windows update, i cannot rememebr what it was though.

- There was one, which was Nero 2015 which was the latest program that was installed but that i uninstalled becau
